About the project

Through the project, we are improving the participation of people with physical and/or mental disabilities in outdoor sports activities, their perception of themselves and of nature, their care for their physical and mental health and their relationship with nature.

The desired outcomes are inclusive and sustainable:

  • enhancing social inclusion through exercise in the outdoors (adapted cycling, walking, therapeutic horse riding)
  • improving the relationship towards nature and thus reducing pollution
  • fighting the stigma that “people with disabilities don’t excercise”
  • promoting equality and non-discrimination
  • activating people with disabilities in outdoor exercise and nature protection
  • promoting sustainable mobility
  • promoting the physical and mental health of people with disabilities and personnel
  • improving the well-being of people with disabilities and personnel
  • reducing the levels of stress and anxiety for disabled people and personnel
  • building new knowledge for people with disabilities and personnel
  • improving the competence of personnel and partner organisations
  • exchanging experiences and good practices, upgrading the partners’ practice and increasing the capacity of the smaller newcomer partners (UVID and COOKT) for international cooperation and development
  • introducing relevant new skills into the regular activities of UVID, COOKT and LURS
  • introducing new outdoor activities for people with disabilities (sensory park and cycling with adapted cycles for people with disabilities)
